What does PortalCam create?
PortalCam is designed to create photorealistic 3D Gaussian Splatting spatial models. Current supported reconstruction outputs include LCC and PLY workflows.
Is PortalCam an engineering point-cloud scanner?
PortalCam is positioned primarily for visual spatial models and 3DGS. XGRIDS recommends the Lixel K series or L2 Pro when point-cloud or mesh engineering data is the primary requirement.
What software is used with PortalCam?
LCC Scan is used during capture. After scanning, LCC Studio can reconstruct the captured data into 3D Gaussian Splatting models. Cloud workflows may also be available depending on your software setup.
How long can PortalCam scan on one battery?
A fully charged battery provides approximately 60 minutes of operation. XGRIDS recommends keeping an individual map collection to around 30 minutes or less.
